KAYAK INFORMATION

We offer Jackson Kayaks single, tandem and fishing kayak options.

The single and tandem kayaks are from their Riviera model. The Riviera is all about effortless fun! Made for simplicity, it is the perfect choice for anyone seeking comfortable sit-on-top kayak that is user friendly. They feature high back molded-in seats for comfort and support.  They have a 300 pound capacity for the single and 450 pounds for the tandem.

The fishing kayak is the Bite Angler model. It has a nice stable fishing platform with flush mount rod holders, ensuring you are all set to hit the water and start fishing right away. It has an open-concept deck platform so you can stand to fish. Ample storage with bungee attachment system for securing tackle boxes or cooler. Comfort seat attains an exceptional level of breathability, comfort, and drainage. They have a 400 pound capacity.

We also have added a few Z Pro Mini Cat Tubes to try this season. They have the portability of a tube, with the maneuverability of a small boat. The Mini Cat Tube is a very stable personal single watercraft and will provide great fun on the water for all ages. They have D-Rings on them as well so they can be tied off to the kayaks while floating if someone wants to relax more while someone else paddles more. These provide nice back support and your feet dangle in the water while floating.

If we have significant interest in canoeing, then we will look into adding this option for the 2025 season but at this time we are still determining the demand of these.

We will transport you up the Little Platte River via a shuttle bus at one of the five drop off points of your choosing upon reservation. You will float back to Smithville Lake Access 6 which is located at the end of O Highway just a quarter mile from BigFoote Outfitter’s Store. Floating reservations guarantee a timely put in. BigFoote Outfitters reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

Average kayaking time is 2 miles per hour plus you want to configure stopping time as well into your float. All float rentals, except for the one specified half day leisure float, are considered all day floats but are not prorated if you leave at a later time in the day or if you come back prior to 6 pm. This allows you time to relax on the float, take a dip in the water, tie up to fish or have a bite to eat. You make your plan and set your speed for your return to the designated pick up point.

All floating rates include: paddle, life vest, shuttle transportation from your put in and take out points.
