SCENIC RIVER FLOATS

Put in times are 7:00 am/9:00 am/11:00 am/1:00 pm. We will transport you up the Little Platte River via a shuttle bus at one of the four drop off points of your choosing upon reservation. You will float back to Smithville Lake Access 6 which is located at the end of O Highway just a quarter mile from BigFoote Outfitter’s Store. Floating reservations guarantee a timely put in. BigFoote Outfitters reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

-The above floats, float the river and a small portion of where the river feeds into the north end of Smithville Lake. If you would prefer to float only the river, we can accommodate floating between two points which would allow for a choice of approximately a 2-4 MILE RIVER FLOAT. 

- Average kayaking time is 2.5 miles per hour plus all stopping time.

-Floating the river is recommended on a windy day.

- All floating rates include paddles, life vests, transportation to and from BigFoote Outfitters.

WE CAN SHUTTLE YOUR PERSONAL KAYAK FOR DESTINATION FLOATS

•  $25 PER KAYAK (price is per kayak not per group)
•  We can shuttle you and your kayak to any of the destination float sites seven (7) days a week. Reservations recommended but you can call in the morning for daily availability.

RELAXING LAKE DAY AS YOU FLOAT YOUR OWN PATH

Put in times are more flexible since we are located so close to the boat ramp. You have the option to be shuttled and dropped off or meet us at the boat ramp at Smithville Lake Public Access 6, just 1/4 mile south of BigFoote Outfitters and be picked back up at the same spot at the end of rental time.

Cuddy Buddy Floating Cooler & Dry Storage Vessel

•  Marine Grade Features to hold your food, drinks or floating needs while you are floating the river
•  These are engineered to perform in and out of the water.

• Holds approximately 30 cans + 20-pound bag of ice
• It has a Hydrodynamic flow tow hull design profile for efficient towing

Pup Creek Kooler Floating Cooler

• Dual wall blown molded construction
• Foamed insulation
• 1/8 turn threaded watertight quick connect lid
• They are 15-quart capacity
• Holds approximately 15 twelve-ounce cans + 10-pound bag of ice
• Great for dry storage
• $20.00 daily rental 

INFLATABLE COOLER 

• This is an open top commercial grade inflatable cooler option allowing you to fill ice directly into it the opening or setting your own stocked cooler inside of it and towing it behind you. 
• $10 daily rental

FLOAT TRIP GUIDELINES

• Please arrive 30 minutes before your reservation time to complete the check-in process. (payment, sign waiver, receive life jacket & mesh bag, load the bus)
•  If there is a threat of severe weather, you will receive a rain check that is valid for one year from the date of your reservation. If the severe weather passes by noon rain checks will not be given.
•  No glass bottles. It’s the law!
•  Do not litter the river or on the land. You will be provided with a net bag so please help us keep the river & banks clean by picking up litter and hauling it to your pickup location.
•  Latest take out time is 7:00 pm on Friday & Saturdays and 6:00 pm Sunday thru Thursday. Late take out fee is $25 per hour per kayak. No exceptions.
•  All kayaks must end up at the designated take-out point at Smithville Lake Public Access 6 at the end of O Highway.
•  You are responsible for all equipment rented to you. Charges will apply for broken and/or lost paddles and life jackets. Normal wear and tear on the kayak is expected. In the event a vessel or equipment is lost or damaged beyond the normal wear and tear, repair expenses or replacement cost will be charged to the renter of said vessel and/or equipment.
•  We strive to ensure you have a safe trip. However, floating and water activities come with personal risks.
• Swimming during your float or during your stay at BigFoote Outfitters is at your own risk. There are no lifeguards on duty. BigFoote Outfitters does not assume responsibility for personal injury, medical payments, property loss or damage.
•  Notice there is a 3.5% credit card fee on the amount processed. Example: $100 reservation would be $103.50 charged. Forms of payment accepted are cash and credit card. Prices are subject to change.

RESERVATIONS so you can FLOAT NOW. WORRY LATER.

Please call the store at 816-879-3460 to reserve your float. We require a 50% deposit at the time of reservation. You can stop in and pay cash/card or pay it over the phone with a credit/debit card.

•  You waive your deposit for cancelled kayak-canoe-paddleboard-raft rentals if notification call is not received seven (7) days prior to your scheduled float. If you do not call and do not show up, you will be charged the full price for your reservation. In the event of inclement weather that doesn't allow floating for the day of your reservation you can reschedule your float for another time within one calendar year.
